#Somebodylikeme Campaign

Hello everybody, so how's your holidays been? I know mine been really awesome and full of activities! Anyways, have you guys heard of #Somebodylikeme campaign organized by Durex? In conjunction with World AIDS Day, Durex Malaysia contributed RM8,000 and 50,000 pieces of Durex condoms to PT Foundation, Malaysia’s largest community-based HIV/AIDS organisation. The donations were raised in collaboration with  Watsons Malaysia and Guardian Pharmacy Malaysia in support of PT Foundation’s on-going HIV/AIDS advocacy work and education programmes in Malaysia.
#SOMEBODYLIKEME Campaign launched on 15th November 2013 aimed at educating Malaysian youths on HIV/AIDS. It is indeed something to be concerned about as the recent statistics have shown an increase of HIV infections among young people, particularly between the age of 13 and 29! Not good indeed!

#SOMEBODYLIKEME campaign also saw Durex working in collaboration with social influencers on social media to educate youths on HIV/AIDS. Personalities including, Yang Berbahagia DatinPaduka Marina Mahathir, Niki Cheong, Reuben Kang, KlubbKidd KL aka Joe Lee, Audrey Pui Yan, KarenaCheow, HanieHidayah and Christopher Tock including me have been posting provocative statements and questions regarding HIV/AIDS on Facebook, Twitter! As you see, some of us been posting and asking questions related to sex.

As you can see I joined the campaign and had funny conversation with my peers!

Thanks to Social Grooves on of the successful social company in Malaysia that has made this a successful campaign, in this campaign, I had learnt a lot especially being chast, i mean it's never shameful being a virgin it is more shameful if you had an HIV. I think this campaign gave an impact to the youth to finally realize that sex is not merely just a game, it can be fun and kinky but it can be deadly and really, you wouldn't want to get HIV, I swear.

So people, make a change and join the move! "Love yourself, Love Life and Stay safe"

I mean, it doesn't cost you much getting yourself a condom, it would cost a life if you don't wear them!

Ciccio Restaurant's Review

Hey lovelies!

How are your holidays? I know most of you, uni students having holidays now because you guys finished your finals, *pops confetti* HAHA. Lets celebrate it with having a delicious meal at some awesome place! Where to go? Having a hard time of deciding where to go? Wait, what. Are you guys planning to the normal mamak corner again? NOOOO, stop it right there you.

I, Alvynna, is introducing you tho this awesome italian gem - Ciccio! Haven't heard of it yet? oh no, sure you do, it's like a must visit place, if you didn't, head down to the city now and have a taste at their scrumptious pizzas, yummmmmmm. Thanks VIBEHERO giving the chance to discover new restaurants!

So let me take you to this gastronomical of savoring flavours of this very awesome hidden italian gem! Ciccio are famous for their handmade and wood-fired pizza. It's also one of the oldest Italian restaurants in Bukit Bintang. If you're seeking alcoholic trills, Ciccio is defo the place for to have one of these alcoholic beverages that manage to impress many of their custormers, and yes they are shipped directly from its origin, Italy.

" Garlic Bread with Olive Oil "
This is good, don't be fooled by its plain looking garlic bread, Italians are really skilled at making the bread so tempting that you gotta eat more, it has this crispy crust but soft in the inside, and ofcourse when you deep in the Olive Oil. it tasted heavenly.

“Affettato di porchetta”
Slice of roasted rolled pork with rocket salad

I really loved this one because i'm such a health-freak, anything with salad is good, I really like how the the greens and the pork blended so well together!

“Pizza Diavola”
tomato, mozzarella, spicy Napoli salami, chili

Ciccio is famous because of their pizzas, i'm not really a fan of pizza because most pizzas taste eekey, or maybe I always go for the terrible restaurants lol, but surprising this is really good, it is a wood-fired pizza, they are baked under 800-900 degrees next to hardwood fire in an italian brick oven! it is Italian traditional way of how they baked their pizza in the outcome of crispy outer layer and soft in the core of the pizza and ofcourse, the surprise from the mozzarella cheese, mmmmmmmm.

'’Pizza Prosciutto e funghi”
tomato, mozzarella, cotto ham, mushrooms

This is also one of their famous pizzas, and it's my favourite dish maybe because of the ham that is perfectly baked in the oven!
“Linguine al branzino”
Seabass, red chicory, garlic, a touch of chili and white wine sauce
Okay honestly I totally forgotten to take picture of this, so I googled the, credits to photographer who took this. Anyway, this too, my favourite, it's reallylovely in my mouth!

"Feattuccine al ragu' di chinghiale "
wild boar ragout with home-made fettuccine

This taste like "dry kueh teow" for me,hahahahha. I don't know how to feel when I ate this, but it's definitely good, I can't stop digging it and put it in my mouth again and again. Okay, lets not lecture me about diet now.

"Filetto di maiale"
pan-fried pork loin wrapped with panceta, with pumpkin mesh and cherry sauce.
This was really good, I swear. I loveeeeeee love love love the pumpkin mesh, it blended so well with other 2 element in dish which make you go....ahhhhhhhhh mmmm. Okay, that wasn't necessary but you do get what i mean right?

candied fruits, sponge cake, almonds and Galliano liquer
I was really stuffed but when i first scooped it into my mouth, my tummy automatically make way for this heavenly dessert! The soft that blended so well together with ice-cream and cake make everything taste too good to be true.

Thanks again, CICCIO & VIBEHERO that gave me the chance to have an awesome dinner!!!

Guess Luxe Leather Bag Launch @ The Gardens

Outfit of the day// a plain white shirt// a striped jeggings// a black heels// a coach bag

Hello lovelies, so finally I get to update a post, like finally, literally. Well, it's because i'm finally back in my hometown and my exam is finally finished and walaaaaa, i'm so free so i'll probably blog 2x to 3x per week this month and hopefully it will maintained till next year, which i almost never did.

So I attended this event in Mid October, Guess Luxe, and I updated in December, it's because my pictures are really ugly and I really don't wanna post ugly pictures on my post, thank God for official photographers right? Was really excited because it's my very first time I attended an event with the beautiful girls from The Butterfly project, it's not that I don't want to join it's just .that my time usually crashed with events,so it's pretty hard for me to attend lots of events from them!

The Butterfly Girls, okay don't bother looking for me cuz I wasnt in, I went back earlier due to another event which is bf's birthday! Sad, but hopefully i'll join more of their activities!

Guess Luxe presents a range of exclusive leather handbags that complements the wardrobe of a contemporary to urban to femininity with a slight touch of romanticism which make the bags looks utterly sophisticated. These luxury collections offers handbags with European touch that gives a beautiful blend of elegance and style.

The Guess Accessories store in The Gardens.

A collection for more elderly women for my opinion, especially the leopard print, really love how it make a statement and would make a plain dress more alive and youthful for the elderly women.

For my age people like me that's into elegance and chic, these collections suits me best. It's simple, elegant and chic! Wished I could bring all home.

This is my favorite, Primose Medium Flap Bag in Amethyst. I honestly love this one because of its wine colour, totally add a little touch of romanticism in an outfit. I don't normally see this type of colour on a bag, so it's really special to see one!

This is my another favourite too, Golden Cage Collection.

The hot dancers during the launch!

The Event itself hosted by our very own Patricia K!

So that's all for now, stay tuned to more post! XOXO

Guest Post//Dancing with KL

Hello peeps! How's your weekdays been? I know mine been really unproductive and I got lazier day by day, hopefully my laziness stop.

Anyways, what's a guest post?
A guest post is like someone want to convey a message to readers through my blog, so I open up a guest post ever since there's one foreigner keen to talk about KL and how her life been as a foreigner here. She requested to be anonymous so here's the post and hope you readers enjoy!

Dancing with Kuala Lumpur

Do you already have plans for tonight? Or maybe for the weekend? Maybe you will want to try something new?
I am an expat here and although due to my professional life I don’t have much free time left I do not abdicate on going dancing once (or more if possible) a week.  In this sense Kuala Lumpur was a pleasant surprise as I found so many places where I can enjoy good music and environment. I just had to look for them in sites like VibeHero or Facebook groups (there are a lot). I will leave you here with some of my favorite places both bars and clubs:

One of my favorites! Pisco is able to combine good music with an awesome environment. You want to chill with your friends? Enjoy the Studio 54 inspired environment downstairs. Want to go crazy on the dance floor? Go up and enjoy the amazing music they play (They play from house music to oldies like Blink 182 or The Killers, I personally like it a lot). It is strategically located close to the busy Changkat but it manages to run away from the “too crowded” environment. The staff is extremely nice, the wine selection is exquisite and if you get hungry don’t miss on the Spanish tapas! One last important detail: the entrance is always free!

This is a good bar to go during the weekends. You can say that sometimes it gets to crowded but the truth is that during weekdays it is almost to empty to dance (although that never stopped me before). With South American inspiration this bar has one of the biggest dance floors in Changkat (check it upstairs). There you will mainly hear commercial/mainstream music which is always a good option when besides dancing you want to “scream your heart out”.  My advice? Start the night drinking with some friends and head to Havana after for some crazy dancing!

This is a classic, mainly for foreign people (if you are foreign you get in for free until 1 a.m.). All my expat friends know and love Zouk and I couldn’t exclude myself from that. When I really feel like dancing this is the place to go, especially because it is the only place (in this list at least) that is open till five in morning (and sometimes a bit more). The thing that I like the most about Zouk is the fact that you can choose among different rooms: you never get bored! The music, like the environment, never disappoints.  Zouk is a hit!

Vertigo offers one of the best spaces in Kuala Lumpur! Located in the Gardens’ rooftop, Vertigo had the Led dance floor space and the bar overlooking with a great view to the Gardens’ pool (to be perfect, perfect the pool would be included!). The music varies from electronic to hip-hop so it is hard not to please everyone. There are a lot of theme nights with electronic djs that only make it better. Vertigo is the perfect place to run from the routine every now and then.
Hope to see you soon partying in one of these places!

Nomwithme: Across The Road, Bangsar

Have you ever ask yourself why do you go for the same mamak/cafe/restaurant over and over again but the fact that you live in a huge city when there's THOUSANDS of places you can eat? Are you that person afraid of trying something new but have the WANTS to do so?

Being a food lover just like me, or a total fuss when comes towards food,
and I'm that annoying person that goes like:

Me: "Eh dude, lets go noms something."
Friend: "what you wanna eat?"
Me: " Anything?"
Friend:" Western?"
Me:" Nah."
Friend:" Laksa, Mee Jawa, Wantan mee."
Me:" Nah, anything but that."

And my friends will go berserk due to my fussy-ness and the fact that I said that I would go for anything and then we will end up going to same coffee shop or mamak nearby and ordered the same dish I had over and over again!

If you're that person just like me, VibeHero is totally one of the place that you can go to find anything and everything especially about hidden treasures - food in the city!

VibeHero is basically a company that is driven by bunch of people just like you and me that have passion for all things fun and adventurous especially comes to food. VibeHero's mission is to deliver in writing a taste of world's greatest dishes and hidden cool spots that you never thought you can find!

Thanks to VibeHero,
I was invited to have a Food Review session in Across The Road, yes the name is Across The Road and literally, the restaurant is really across the road! How irony and this restaurant is a rare gem, if you are looking for unique western cuisine experience, instead of having boring Bolognese all the time. Across The Road is the place you should head to!

This hidden cool pub-restaurant was totally hidden, I took few drives around the same spot trying to find it or maybe I'm just blind.

Okay let the food adventure begins!

First Appetiser: Mushroom/Tomato Bruschetta

One word, one of the loveliest pastry I ever tasted. I really love how the mushroom, tomato and the crunchy outer part really blend so well together, a little of crunchiness and a little mushy on the inside. Just a little dissapointing it came in tiny bits, I would go nom all 5 in one time. LOL

2nd Appetiser: Caramelised onion and goats cheese tarlets

By far the best dish I had that night! And again, really love the crunchiness and the mushiness and the way the cheese lingers inside my mouth, perfection.

First starter: Salmon broth with prawn dumplings, chives and caviar

It looks plain but taste gold and if you know me well, I have this fetish towards soup so literally drank the whole soup. *gulps*  It is more of a chinese cuisine more than a western cusine, probably because it is a dumping, remind me so much of a chicken soup my mum used to cook for me, and the what's precious inside the soup, the caviar.

Second starter: Beef roll salad with balsamic

This too, one of my fav dish of the night. It's also feels like a chinese cuisine, the salad on top, total precious.

Third starter: Homemade chicken and mushroom ravioli

One word for this dish, orgasm in the mouth. It taste so gooooood. Usually when go to some random french restaurant, I'll avoid ordering cheese macaroni because I really dislike the uneasy feeling after eating such thick amount of cheese, but this is an exception. oh no, this isn't a macaroni, this is a western dumpling and still generalised as pasta, I really think it's really unique because it's a homemade pasta, and I really the cheese, mushroom and chicken just blended out well together in your mouth!

First main: Homemade vegetable lasagna

I never eaten a vegetarian lasagna and this is prolly the first time ever, at first I had little doubts, I mean how can you not have meat in a lasagna?! And this is a total exception, I'm gone speechless, perfection.

Second main: Cheese stuffed beef burger with 3x cooked chunky chips

Me and the bloggers are really stuffed after all the dishes, and I wasn't keen of eating this dish because I don't really like burgers, because ya food will stuck on my damn braces, but I gave it a go. To my surprise, I loved it! Maybe it's because the beef inside was perfectly cooked, it wasn't as solid as it looks and if you eat the middle part of the burger it's like a surprise because suddenly the cheese just squirt out like an erecting volcano, lol.

Third main: Chicken breast stuffed with prawn mousse and Yorkshire pudding with wild mushroom, mixed herbs and shallot sauce

Had the hardest time to remember this dish's name. Chicken too nicely cooked, Yorkshire pudding I had no idea what that was, but it's really lovely.

Fourth main: Sea bass roll with young asparagus, cheese risotto and spicy seafood broth.

Another favourite, cuz i'm a total sucker for seafood. I'm no fuss to seafood, I eat everything when comes to seafood, actually no I eat every single thing as long it's edible and greatly cooked. The sea bass on top was perfectly steamed, it feels like it got steamed and again a surprise in the middle with cheese risotto. Bottom of the dish is steamed rice, felt like "pulut"- some malay transitional dish.

First dessert: Raspberry cheesecake

Really like how soft the cheesecake in the middle. A little mixture of sweet and sour, but the sourness overpowered the sweetness of the cake.

First dessert: Tiramisu with strawberry on top
When the owner informed us it's a last dish, I was really relieved because my tummy are about to burst and I'm really stuffed but sad at the same time because I really wanna eat more. lol, the dilemma over wanting to eat but unable to stuff more food in. This last dish, also a mixture of sweet and sour, the sourness of the tiramisu too overpowered the sweetness of it, overall it's just an okay dessert, I like the first dessert better. But, if you are a tiramisu person, you gotta give it a go!

Last but not least, me and fellow bloggers. From the left it's Joey, Jessica, myself, Elaine and also Pandora from VibeHero. Too bad I had to leave early because well it was my birthday and my mum came all the way from Sarawak to visit me and didn't had the chance to take picture with all of them. Thanks to VibeHero for spoiling me with awesome food and ofcourse,  I had the most amazing evening, hopefully there's more to come from VibeHero!
